RedHat Renewal Back Maintenance Fees

Is anyone being bullied by RedHat for back maintenance fees for expired licenses. we don't use any of the services related to RedHat like patches, updates, service calls...

What does it say in your license, purchase agreement, etc.? If you are obligated to pay something, then I think they have a right to collect.

If you are not using any of RHEL's services why run RHEL? Centos is RHEL with the logos removed. It is free to download/update(unlike RHEL) and is binary compatible with RHEL.

No, no one is bullying us. However, I *DO* get random phone calls from sales drones, about "Hey, did you know you're up for renewal in only <some number> of months? Renew NOW and save!", to which I tell them to shove it. We renew each server individually, so they're all on different cycles, and with one guy, it got annoying. Calls every few days, until I told him to stuff it, all of that was handled by our purchasing dept, and if he called again, we'd start migrating stuff to SuSE...:)
