Redhat 9 APM boot error

Hello if you are reading this (first thread)

I have just installed Redhat 9.0.
The installation all went fine but during the first reboot the Box hangs at
'apm: Bios Version 1.2 Flags 1x03 (Driver Version 1.16)'

The box is an old Dell Dimension L800R

I have tried looking in the bios for the Advanced Power Management, but there is nothing about it in there, I have also tried flashing the Bios.

This is the first time I have tried using Linux, I have tried searching with no joy, the only thing I have seen to do is enter the command 'apm = off' but not really too sure wherre to do this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Cheers

Just to answer this ancient post so that someone has an answer.

Most distributions have a function key assigned to add options to grub. Look at the bottom of the screen for the function key assigned and enter your command into the grub boot string.

Good luck.
