Question Redhat 6.1 errata patch

I have a requirement to "un mothball" a Redhat 6.1 system in order to run an application that is only certified against this OS.

I have found a list of 6.1 errata packages to be applied (from the Redhat archive) , however not all the packages listed are available in the 6.1 ftp directory (they are available on the 6.2 ftp directory).

What I want to know is - can 6.2 errata packages be applied to a 6.1 OS (as long as all the dependant packages have already been installed) ?

TIA,

Jim.

6.2 was the direct successor of 6.1 and hence is very (if not completely) compatible. You should be able to upgrade specific components without trouble. You would see RPM dependency errors before you would fail to upgrade something.

But both distributions have reached end-of-life long ago anyway.
