Red Hat magazine disks - problem loading updates

I'm trying to load the updates to Fedora from the disks that came with the magazine, and I can't get past a certain stage. I'm very new to Linux, so I decided to not be clever and just go with the GUI installation. I get through the package selection stage at the first disk and then when i go forward with the install, it just kind of quits. No messages, no indication that what I've done has taken or not, no prompt to insert the 2nd disc. Also, about half the time, I can't get the disc to unmount once it ends. It looks like it's still reading the disc, but I've let it sit for quite some time and there's no activity whatsoever. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
