Red HAt install First timer...getting unusual errors???
I get it all loaded ok.. RED HAT 9
and it starts to get going..get past the boot loader.... and get this scrolling garbage... www . audiohelix . com / mofbody / 100_2547.jpg sorry about the spaces...it wont let me post a url till I have more posts... dont know what it is..... keeps scrolling and scrolling... happens afetr I get thru all the basics telling me they have loaded... It's hard to make out the error messages (..could you perhaps use a faster exposure?) but it appears to be reporting a page fault. This is a hardware error to do with faulty/poorly connected memory.
Do these errors occur during installation, or have you completed the install and are booting for the first time? |

Your bio says: "Distribution: None yet....cant get any of them to work!!!". How many have you tried? What was the last OS to run on this machine, and what has changed to it's hardware since then?
My inclination would be to remove everything except mainboard, mem, cpu, hard disc and yamaha cdrw, and then try again. I haven't used Red Hat in several years, but as I say above, this looks to be a hardware fault. |
