Umm.. You CAN'T DOWNLOAD RHEL.... It's required support forces you to purchase it with support.. thus paying the price...
Though a cheaper way to buy it... is to buy Red Hat Professional Workstation (the CD's in it are for RED HAT ENTERPRISE LINUX WS v3) You just don't get the 24x7 support... But you DO still get the updates... I bought mine at Best Buy for $99.99... Not bad when to buy the officeial RHEL WS is like $300... But no, you can not download it...

You can also use one of the rebuild projects, such as CentOS.

I dont know which RHEL rebuild is better...I undestand that WB is supposed to be a near perfect rebuild but there are other rebuilds which are gaining steam.
Didn't someone do a cursory review of the current major RHEL rebuilds about a month ago?

I try to install CentOS-3 and White Box,
CentOS-3 up2date to fast downloading
WhiteBox up2date to slow downloading.
