recompiling php5
Hi,
Im having issues recompiling PHP5 with an unmodified php5.spec file. In summary I downloaded the SRPM unpacked it, tried to recreate a RPM from this & it fails. I've included all my steps upto when I have issues with the RPM Build.
#uname -a Linux localhost.localdomain 2.6.18-128.1.6.el5 #1 SMP Wed Apr 1 09:10:25 EDT 2009 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
I installed rpmbuild.
I downloaded "php-5.1.6-23.el5.src.rpm" from mirrors.centos.org. I then ran #rpm -Uvh php-5.1.6-23.el5.src.rpm which unpacked all the files into /usr/src/redhat/{BUILD},{SPECS},{RPMS},{SRPMS}.
cd /usr/src/redhat/specs
#rpmbuild -bb /usr/src/redhat/SPECS/php.spec
This at first gave me alot of dependency errors, which I resolved by installing the *-devel packages that was required by the compiler.
After running rpmbuild again, it gives me this error:
configure: error: There is something wrong. Please check config.log for more information.
error: Bad exit status from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.63218 (%build)
I checked config.log which is about 300K in size & I'm unable to see why its failing.
I don't think anyone wants me to upload the entire 300K log file, but I do see alot of the following messages in my config.log or is there anything I should be looking for within this config.log.
191.configure: failed program was:
192.| /* confdefs.h. */
Many thanks
