hai, i'm newby redhat user. my Q is how to read ms dos partition from redhat?

Hello,

Redhat? Are you using RH9 or Fedora? I would recommend Fedora if you are not using that. Not just ecause it is newer, but because the user documentation is fabulous, see http://www.fedorafaq.org/ .

However, this should help with any distro: http://linux-ntfs.sourceforge.net/info/ntfs.html#4.5. It is targeted towards NTFS, this will also work for FAT32. The only difference is that you would use 'vfat' instead of 'ntfs' when specifying type. You could also just use the -a option for auto. As well, with fat you don't need to worry about mounting read-only, you can write to fat32 from Linux.
