Question about RH multipath, wont boot after kernel update

Hi guys..

I'm install RH in SAS storage. /boot / and /var would be created from a volume in the storage.

1) is it advised to use LVM or can I just dont use it..

2) after I ran yum update, the system downloaded a new kernel and it wont boot with it (it still boot with the old kernel)

Quote:

unable to access resume device (dev/mapper/...
mount: could not find filesystem /dev/root
3) should I run mkinitrd to recreate the kernel image?(with the new downloaded kernel)

4) if I run #multipath -v0 or 1 or 2 it doesnt show anythnig... neither multipath -d

what am I missing?

You are not really all that clear on how your system is configured. Are you booting from SAN or from local disk? You need to provide more details about how you are booting the system and how it is configured.
