PXE Error using DRBL Clonezilla on RedHat 8.0

Hi,

Can anyone shed some light on this problem for me please?

I'm running Red-Hat 8.0 and I've installed DRBL to use clonezilla. DHCPd and TFTP are both enabled on the Linux machine.

When I boot the client from LAN I get the error "PXE-E53 No boot file name" then the lan boot restarts. I know that this roughly means that the client has picked up a dhcp address but not boot information. Clonezilla is running "opt/drbl/sbin/dcs" is the command I use to start it.

The Linux server had 2 ethernet cards: eth0 picks up it's IP address dynamically from ISP, eth1 has static IP of 192.168.1.1

I'm pretty sure DHCP is running on eth1 (which is connected to the same switch the client is connected to..) but I don't know how to check.

I know this may be a bit complicated but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Clara

Hi,

Thanks for having a look for me, however I have already checked out that site before I posted on here. I think It's got something to do with TFTP and DHCP not working in conjunction, so I've got to re-install Linux.....how poop!

I'll post up how it goes incase anyone else comes across a similar problem.

Thanks!

I think it has something to do with TFTP. I am having the same issue. DHCP is configured properly and is the only DHCP service that I run on network. However, I already had a TFTP service on that same server. I am wondering now if it is causing any conflicts. You should check your configuration files and enable logging in dhcp.conf to make sure that the DHCP is ok. That being said, it will be a matter of trial and error to make TFTP work and send the pxelinux.1
