Thank you,
I am running RHEL 5.5 on an AMD Athlon machine. Sorry I was in a hurray last night.
I did run the command in root. Even signed off the user system and signed back in as root. I don't know if this has any relevance but as the system is booting I see a message, that goes by too quick to get the whole message, "stating import **** failed" due to something to do with python.
I really don't want to re-install my Linux system but ever since I installed rhel 5 I have had nothing but trouble. It takes weeks to get the system back to where I want it, I lose email data, and I spend a lot of time sending tickets to rh because some aspect just stops working. I am no fan of MS but at least there is a level of stability I am not seeing with RH. If I decide to stay with linux this will be the 3rd re-install in the last 10 or so months.
So after the venting do you think there is a way to salvage the system? Or, should I just dump the idea of running linux and go back to Windows?
P.S. Sort of. My Open Office just stopped saving documents, after spending an hour or two on writing a presentation.
I just read the pop up on how to ask good questions, saw a lot about stupidity. I must confess I am stupid. You may treat me as such but I do want to learn.
Thanks again
