Problem in installing xine

Hello
I have successfully installed xine-lib-1-rc5 but when i try to run ./configure for xine-ui-0.99.2
i get following error

checking for XINE-LIB version >= 1.0.0... no
*** Could not run XINE test program, checking why...
*** The test program failed to compile or link. See the file config.log for the
*** exact error that occured. This usually means XINE was incorrectly installed
*** or that you have moved XINE since it was installed. In the latter case, you
*** may want to edit the xine-config script: /usr/local/bin/xine-config
configure: error: *** You should install xine-lib first ***

Pls help me out of this problem by sending me a email or by simply repling to my post

Ashwin
