Printing Problems !!!!!

Red Hat 9

Hi

When printing from 0penOficce.org Writer Word Processor or 0penOficce.org Calc or also from Text Editor, and after after clicking on file-print, the sheet of paper passes through the printer without printing out anything.

It's very extrange cause when I print from Mozilla Navigator any internet's information, it does it perfectly.

Does anyone know how to troubleshoot it and make it print ??

Any Ideas???

I have set up the printer step by step many times and can't figure it out.

By the way my printer is a Epson LX 810 Dot Matrix Printer.

Not really,

I haven't set openoffice to my printer and I remember setting something on generic when configuring it.

Can you tell me how to check it out and set as you say ??

Yes I did try.

I tried it to print with "lpr" from terminal, and I could only make TXT files print and also had a non perfect print-out. It didn't recognize some characters.(letters).

What else do you think I could do??

OpenOffice Printing problems

Possibly simple solution:
In OpenOffice->Printer Setup->Generic Printer, edit the properties.
In one of the tabs, change Postscript Level->From Driver to PostScript Level->1.
Now try a test print.

Problem stems from the fact that, OpenOffice (upto the latest 1.1.1) generates Postscript code that OmniPrint drivers for Epson DMPs doesnt understand. Setting the PostScript Level to 1 seems to fix that.

In my experience, I haven't been able to print images embedded in OpenOffice documents yet. Any suggestions?
