plugin for java jre1.5.0_04 on Redhat 9

I am trying to create a symlink between my firefox browser and my java in order to view java scripts, applets etc.

The 1st problem that I have is that I am not sure where my plugins are: I have a /plugins directory for a .mozilla/plugins where my firefox browser is; and I have a /usr/lib/mozilla-1.2.1 and a /usr/lib/mozilla/ both with a plugins directory.

In addition to this, java has two plugin folders a /jre1.5.0_04/plugin/i386/ns7-gcc29/lib and a /jre1.5.0_04/plugin/i386/ns7/lib

Any help would be gratly appreciated as I am 6 hrs into this problem

Put it in /home/username/.mozilla/plugins and link from the ns7-gcc2.whatever folder, since I believe Red Hat uses the old gcc 2.9x series. If I am wrong, then use the other directory.

(Find this out with rpm -q gcc)
