Pink Tie 10 boot problem

I've been running Pink Tie 8 (Redhat 8), with a lot of changes, on a Dell Dimension L100R with GRUB and Windows very successfully. I tried to upgrade to Pink Tie 10 and ran into an archive problem. Decided to do a complete new reinstall. The installed kernel is 2.4.21-4.EL.i686. The new system freezes during boot with the last line:

Total HugeTLB memory allocated, 0

Has anybody had experience with this release? I'm wondering what the next line should be? Any ideas? Thanks, Fritz

I'm now running on the Pink Tie 10 system. The problem turned out to be code put into the kernel (or maybe initrd) that sets up the APM. I went back to install RH8 and ran into the same boot problem although it stopped in a different place. It is strange that the installers didn't have a problem booting nor does windows or even the previous RH8 installed system. My guess is that it happens at install probe time. It is very low on my priority list now since it I am circumventing it by having GRUB pass the "apm=off" option to the kernel.
