Package Selection During Install?

I am trying to install a server setup of Centos 6.3 as a lab for starting to study/practice for an RHCSA certification. I am trying to make a CLI only install with no GUI, however the installation routine (either graphical or CLI) does not offer me the option of selecting packages or of choosing CLI only or installation of a GUI. I used the DVD1 install disc as well as the LiveCD install and both don't give me a choice but happily start installing the distribution. I am pretty sure it is a simple thing I am missing but so far this is proving frustrating. I do realize that I can do an install with a GUI then set the inittab later to 3, but if I am aiming for RHCSA then I should know how to set things up inside and out.

The CLI/ncurses install does result in a CLI login but it still does not offer me the option of selecting packages.

Thanks.

In Kickstart terms the %packages set you're looking for is called "@core". In the Anaconda UI you'll find it listed as "Minimal" and at the bottom there's the familiar "Customize now" toggle. Also see http://wiki.centos.org/Manuals/Relea...OSMinimalCD6.3
