Oracle 9i + Linux AS 4.0 (64bit) + HP Itanium Based Server
Hi,
We are proposing to install Oracle 9i on 64 bit Redhat Linux Enterprise version, Advance Server (AS) 4.0. The hardware is HP itanium Server. Now the equation is like this: Oracle 9i + RedHat Linux AS 4.0 (64 bit) + HP Itanium Server. We would like to know about the following: 1. Any stability issues in future in the above combination of software and hardware. 2. Any performance issues if Oracle 9i runs on 64bit Linux specifically on a HP itanium based server. 3. Any memory constraints in using above combination of software and hardware. 3. Any known pitfals using the above combo on HP Itanium based server from database point of view. The database size is roughly 500 GB. Thanks. |
Post your question in a db forum. Like DBAsupport.com or something.
I'd strill want to check this with Redhat for instance here's a Oracle 9i RHEL 2.1 story. BTW I'd *propose* 10g on RHEL 3. There's not enough production work on 9i/RHEL4. |
Thanks Tarry,
Atleast you gave me a right direction to post my query on a correct forum and I did exactly the same on www.DBAsupport.com. Any further insight would be very helpful. Regards. |
