Old RH versions to download
Hi all,
I am searching for a Red Hat 7.1 to download. My aim is to install in on a virtual machine on both, my Debian and my Mac to do some tests. Is there any mirror where I could download isos from these distros ? Thanks and regards, -- Enric |

Do you really need the old versions? What kinds of tests are you doing? |
Hi Thanks!
Well, my 'tests' are nothing serious: I just want to check how it works in VirtualBox on my Mac and on my Debian and follow the setup of a secure server in the older downloadable version of "Securing and Optimizing Linux" which dates back to 2003. http://www.openna.com/pdfs/Securing-...ution-v2.0.pdf I could say that I do it out of laziness, but to my discharge I have to say that I am going to work during the time I am in the train commuting from home to the office and using a small netbook with a Debian ( a little Acer one with 160 GB HD). I have also been away from the "scene" from 2006 until now, so that I want to start with known stuff again ;) In the case that I had been unable to find the correct version of RH I would of course have used an alternative like the "Securing Debian Guide" or build a Gentoo... which I will of course also do as I do this for plain fun (and to study for my LPI certification). Thanks again !!! |

Load up a current version, like Fedora Core 11, and gain current, usable knowledge. Anything from 2003 is hopelessly out of date... |
I agree, don't waste your time. Try Centos (free equiv of RH Enterprise Linux). Latest is/will be 5.4.
Keep in mind, any tests you do will be on (reasonably) current versions. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Hat_Linux http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CentOS |
