nvaudio modules not installing.

Hi

I use an Asus a7n266-vm motherboard with the nForce2 chipset. I never got sound before, but after I recompiled the kernel, the sound worked.

The only problem is that the sound module why the system uses to play music isn't the one I was expecting. It is the i810_audio. THis was one of the options under the sound bit in the kernel compilation.

I cannot seem to install the correct nvidia one. When I try to install the module (after I do make, make install) I get an error. This is the commands I typed and the error:

[root@archimedes sound]# pwd
/lib/modules/2.4.20/kernel/drivers/sound
[root@archimedes sound]# insmod nvaudio.o
nvaudio.o: init_module: No such device
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters.
You may find more information in syslog or the output from dmesg
[root@archimedes sound]#

Has anyone had this problem before? Can anyone thing of a solution?

I thought that it might be because the i810_audio and the nvaudio needed the same IRQ, but I don't know how to fix it.

many thanks
hamish

EDIT

OK, I have not sorted the problem. It wouldn't install becuase the i810_audio module was running.

Now it is all working fine.
