Nslookup


Hi,
I have a problem with nslookup.

when I type

nslookup ww w.mydomain.com
is show up



but when I type like this

nslookup mydomain.com

I get a message Can't find server


WHY ??? any one help me

Can you give a concrete example please?
And what have you got in /etc/resolv.conf?

resolv.conf (my web server)

search localdomain
nameserver 192.168.2.1


resolv.conf(my dns server)

search localdomain


(I have two servers. one dns server and other web server.

name server ip 0.0.0.1 and 0.0.0.2

web server ip 0.0.0.4
(web server with 4 domain)

0.0.0.1 or 192.168.2.1?

Debug your nameserver configuration at 192.168.2.1
Also try host -a mydomain.com
