new member with first question: Why do some packages end like .src.rpm?
I'm trying to prep a server for Oracle and need to install some packages. When I search for control-center-2.8.0-12 I'm getting results back that look like this: control-center-2.8.0-12.src.rpm rather than what I expected which is control-center-2.8.0-12.rhel4.2.x86_64.rpm. Help would be much appreciated.

.src.rpm files are used to create your own .rpm file with whatever configurations you want to use. http://www.rpm.org/max-rpm/s1-rpm-mi...nia-srpms.html may be of use to you.
And I have moved this to the Red Hat forum as it's a specific question. Welcome to LQ :) |
