My refresh rote can't be modified?

My linux is Red Hat 5. And my refresh rote can't be modified. I had searched many articles, but no result.
Help me ! Thank you ?

1. Open preferences-screen resolution, refresh rate cann't be modified and always 60Hz, I want to increase it. What should I do ? Thank u!

2. This is my xorg.conf:

Are you sure your monitor can handle a higher refresh rate? If you set it up too high you may damage your display

Now I refresh rate is OK! I have Increase it to 85Hz, but I resolution change to 1024*768. If resolution is 1280*1024, the refresh rate only can
select 60Hz.

The resolution and the refresh rate is bound to each other! Right? Right!
