mounting SATA drives


is there someone who knows how to teach me to do this stuff in redhat?and is it the same in mandrake?

what part are you having problems with? normally it'd just be "mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/sata_drive" or something... maybe you need to provide more info.

can mount command be used with sata harddriver?

someone told me .linux does not supuort sata harddrive.but i don't sure about this.

i would suggest not giving advice if you are not sure about it. up to date linux distributinos support sata just fine.

no, i can't. you need to just read the mount manpage and use whatever /dev/ entry is relevant to your device in question.

Could you post your output of the following command:

fdisk -l

You need to be root to do this.
Also what kernel version are you using? post the output of:

uname -r

2.6 kernels have good SATA drive support. I'd recommend you install/upgrade your kernel to 2.6.
