migrating user to samba
 

This is what i got so far.. nt dc working and i have already setup a bdc on my linux box but when i try to net rpc vampire my accounts over i get this:

Creating account: user$
Could not create posix account info for 'user'


and so on for all my users. anyone have any idea whats going on?

In particular, this quote from the page surprised me.

"Samba-3 cannot function as a BDC to an MS Windows NT4 PDC, and Samba-3 cannot function correctly as a PDC to an MS Windows NT4 BDC. Both Samba-3 and MS Windows NT4 can function as a BDC to its own type of PDC."

right now i have nt4.0 domain running and working.. I want to get off of nt and start using samba...so i did my research and i setup a linux samba server ( on a whole another network i tested it and got it working as a PDC) now i want to go live so i need to vampire all my nt account to this box, in order for this to hapend i setup my linux samba server pdc to a bdc on the same domain as the nt4.0..( i was suffsully doing this. but when i run the net rpc vampire command i get thoes errors???? I checked my smb.conf and i have the passdb backend = tdbsam .................I just need all my accoutns over to the linux box, once i get his i can make this my PDC...any help would be great...
