No; as mentioned above Centos = RHEL; there's no difference

Am I confused about Yum? Does RHEL have Yum now?

Centos has used yum since at least 4.X(and I think earlier). RHEL switched to yum starting with RHEL5.X(prior versions used up2date). There are also howtos to switch earlier versions of RHEL over to yum.

Jefro,
Yes the Oracle Enterprise Linux is also binary compatible with Redhat, but they also charge for support.

As you guys can see this was my first question on LQ, and I admire the indepth, prompt and encouraging help. This alone has made me a convert to CentOS. Funnily enough, previously, I just thought inferring from name "CentOS" that the word Cent implies something very small, but then pardon me as I am newbie.

Yum is also a very new thing for me, and I will be researching about it now. Any help would be greatly appreciated, please.

best regards
