LVM - adding a new scsi hard disk
I want to add a new scsi hard disk. One hd on a rhel3 (lvm-1.0.8-12.2) system and another on a rhel4 (lvm2-2.00.15-2) system.

Until now I've always installed the hd with the OS and it was very simple. Now with an already installed OS it is not very clear to me.

I've read the lvm howto, but the problem is that some commands are no more present in rhel4 (ex: e2fsadm).

I've tried as following:

1) format the disk, make the partitions
2) pvcreate /dev/sdc1
3) vgextent vg00 /dev/sdc1
4) lvextent -L +20G /dev/vg00/lvhome /dev/sdc1
5) Dead point :(

Could anyone please explain to me in detail the steps I need to follow for adding a new scsi disk to lvm once for rhel3 with lvm-1.0.8-12.2 and once for rhel4 with lvm2-2.00.15-2. I understood that there are differences between lvm1 and lvm2 and I see that some commands miss in rhel4.

Thanks a lot for your help.
