Login after Installation

Hello to all
My name is Half1 and I am a new member.
first I want to say that I'm happy to be part of the LinuxQuestion.org

I installed Red Hat 7.5, the installation took place without problems. After rebooting the Start was directly from the Harddisk and exiting the Prompt, I inserted root and then the password, the result was:
localhost login: root
Password:.....
[root@localhost ≈]#
I`m sorry i can`t Post picture attachments!
with login using User and Password or via Root and Password happen the same!Than I tried with the bash startx but nothing happens. I confess that I am not the God of computer science and a help would be welcome

Welcome to LQ.

Have you contacted Red Hat support about this? They have great support for their products.

How new are you to Linux? Red Hat is a server distro hence likely doesn't have a graphic interface.

my dear friend thank you for your disinterested answer, I have my account on Red Hat! Forums are there to help so I ask...
I've been using Linux for some time now. I quit for years now again I compare with Linux Distro.Red hat today has a graphical interface (excellent)
The steps to login are correct and I honestly do not understand why I do not enter the system
Sorry would be better if I could post the screenshot!

Assuming that graphical mode IS installed open /var/log/Xorg.0.log and see what it says. If you don't have this file X is not trying to start and probably not installed.

let me see if I got this straight. you got your terminal log in, you log in and it stays at the terminal log in regardless of who logs in?

this is you logged into the system

that is just terminal mode.

you want a gui?

startx

(providing the needed programs are installed to get a gui)

.xinit to tell it what WindowManager/desktop to start.

GUI login takes care of that superseding the .xinit file. Then you have to change your run level setup.

that is just the basics to the basics.

this is correct!
it is a text prompt.
you can enter commands.

but first of all, i need to ask: do you need to log in as root? the answer is likely NO.
log in as your usual user, which you created during install. then you will get a similar (but not the same) text prompt. try to enter 'startx'.
