Hi guys, recently I have dual booted my windows laptop with RHEL 7. After installing, I have noticed that it turns off abruptly while running on low battery in both windows and linux. Also there is overheating problem in linux but not on windows. This sudden turn off problem is not related to overheating because even in windows it turns off suddenly when it is not overheated. Previously it used to only hibernate.

This is not the first time I'm facing this. 2 years ago, I had this same problem after installing Ubuntu. So I think this is happening with all the linux operating systems.
Can you guys say what's the problem?

if you are running on a low battery,
then a Linux O/S is not as accurate as a windows O/S
when it comes to the end of the power. .. ..

- the windows O/S is somewhat customised,
- whereas the Linux O/S is fairly ordinary in it's approach.

in the Linux O/S - see if you can upgrade the sensors utility.

also consider, that the battery is reaching the end of it's life.
