Kickstart Installation problem
1 Attachment(s)
I want to do kickstart installation, for that i have created FTP server where the repository resides and DHCP server for automatic ip address assignment.
when i am creating the configuration file, in the package selection section i didnt find the list. It is showing "Package selection is disabled due to problems downloading package information". What may be the problem? Attachment 1391 |
You have to be registered with RHN and have your yum setup correctly to access RHN or a local satellite server b4 this option will work.

Yum is installed correctly because i can install packages from the ftp server. Even i have registered with RHN also.
Kickstart is showing Package Select List only when it is connected to internet. How do i override that ? |
I don't think u can. It draws it's package list from repositories, so it's probably coded to check the repository every time.
Probably have to hack the code in system-config-kickstart yourself. It's usually python code. |
Shouldn't it work if you finish the process without package selection and do this manually directly in the kickstart file? Not the best solution, but it should work.

Also you can try by configuring YUM server on FTP or nfs or http,
Please try and let me know |
