Kickstart & grub issue

Hi Guys,

I'm deploying RHEL via usb - Now everything works just fine, until the system reboots. It just boots to a grub prompt, I can repair grub by going
root (hd0,0)
setup (hd0,0)
setup (hd0)

And that works. But I want to do this automatically in the post install section of the kickstart file

I've tried grub-install /dev/sda
grub-install --root-directory= /dev/sda
grub-install hd0

Without any luck. Does anyone have any idea here?

I have managed to get it booting correctly by going to virtual terminal and launching grub.

Oh and bootloader is loaded to partition /dev/sda1 if that is off any importance.

since you are using a usb disk for installation it is likely that it is "sda" during installation and "sdb" is the internal drive. You should be able to confirm this by Alt-F2 to get to a shell and the fdisk -l and seeing which one is which.

if that is the case you may be able to overcome this using:
bootloader --driverorder=sdb,sda

although i've not touched much on it I have seen it in a ks.cfg used at work but i'm not sure of the scenario in which it was used. I'm pretty sure that is what it is suppose to do.

Hope this helps.
