kernel-sourcecode-2.6.8-1.603.noarch.rpm
help... I've downloaded the 2.6.8-1.603 kernel and src rpm's, but can't find the source code rpm. how do i recreate the /usr/src/liniux-2.6.8-1.603 directory that the source code rpm created? as i want to custom compile my kernel. did redhat do this so people stop compiling there own kernel?
can i create the directory /usr/src/liniux-2.6.8-1.603 and extract linux-2.6.8.tar.bz2 into it, create the config directory and copy the config files into it??? what about applying patches and how do you do that??? thanks, Eric |
