Kernel Panic in Red Hat 9

I have a Red Hat ver 9 server running a adaptec 2400a raid 5 ide with nothing out the ordinary hardware other then the raid controller. It crashes spiratically. It is kernel panicing and not giving me anything in the logs.

How do i setup the server to be more verbose in writing to the logfiles. I write now looking for the needle in the haystack mode.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thankl you!

Cory

Make sure you have installed all errata packages for Red Hat Linux 9, in particular the latest available kernel package. Let the server run in console mode and see whether you get kernel panic output there.

In a kernel panic situtation the most useful tool is your boot loader GRUB u just have to pass the iniitalies the root(hdx,y)
then the kernel the root path and initrd and then reboor the system
