Arrow kde and qt default directories in RH9

I've been trying to install quanta, but it keeps telling me invalid directory errors. So i've been trying to specify the KDEDIRS AND QTDIRS vars but i guess i ain't giving the right ones. can anyone help?

kde directories will be in /usr/ OR in /opt
qt liabraries should be in /usr/lib/qt
