if u wanna watch java on your mozilla,
first go to sun, and download the 1.4 jre (download jsdk only if u plan to write programs in java)
follow the instruction: chmod a+x jre1.4...blah blah blah, and ./jre1.4 blah blah...
in there, u should see a file libjavaplugin_oji.so*

should be locate in <java>/jre/plugin/i386/ns610
create a sybolic link to your mozilla plugin dir and restart your mozilla, you should be able to view java.

how to create symbolic link

ln -s <location of plugin>

More specifically you must reference the plug-in file to the mozilla plug-in directory location (either system wide in the /usr/lib area where mozilla is
installed or locally in your mozilla plugins directory (hidden with ./)

So if the you installed Java in /usr/local/j2re....

It would be something like this.

ln -s /usr/loca/j2re-1.4.1/plugin/i386/gcc-3.2/lib(whatever that file is) /usr/lib/mozilla-1.2.1/plugins

Substitute my incomplete examples with the exact names of the directories and the file (use the tab key to help you find these things as you enter them)

Then is will work fine.

Also, if you want Java to work in Konquerer, you can go to it's preferences and you will find a java setting where you can browse to the "java" file wherever it is installed and tell Konquerer to use it directly...no symbolic link.

Good luck!
