Java process memory space 32/64
I am a n00b and very much confused
Seeking your much appreciated help understanding the hugemem kernel and how is best running a Java process in order to get ~4GB or more memory space. 1. If running as 32bit process, and on intel64/AMD64, will I be able to reach ~4GB? Is it with hugemem kernel only? 2. I heard the hugemem kernel is not available for AS v5 for x86. Does it mean that its not available for intel64/AMD64 as well for v5? 3. Does hugemem relate to running 64bit Java processes as well? 4. When running as a 64bit Java process I noticed an increase of 70% memory usage - probably due to the pointers' size. Is there a workaround for this horrific phenomena? Lots of questions and believe me lots of confusion on my end  . Will really appreciate some guidance in this regard. Best, Woody |
