I am simply trying to mount some targets from a fresh RHEL 6. This was so simple in 5. The RHEL docs online aren't really helping. I am missing something simple I think.
1. I have this installed:
iscsi-initiator-utils-6.2.0.872-34.el6.x86_64
iscsid: sysfs_attr_get_value: open '/module/scsi_transport_iscsi'/'version'
iscsid: sysfs_attr_get_value: new uncached attribute '/sys/module/scsi_transport_iscsi/version'
iscsid: sysfs_attr_get_value: add to cache '/sys/module/scsi_transport_iscsi/version'
iscsid: sysfs_attr_get_value: stat '/sys/module/scsi_transport_iscsi/version' failed: No such file or directory
iscsid: Missing or Invalid version from /sys/module/scsi_transport_iscsi/version. Make sure a up to date scsi_transport_iscsi module is loaded and a up todate version of iscsid is running. Exiting...
I know the module isn't loaded but it should be according to the iscsid init script so I am stuck.
Since it was a quick process, I rebuilt and started fresh. I am able to connect. I will re-trace my steps and see if I did something that caused it before.
It has to do with me adding iface(s) and attempting to use them in my discovery. As soon as I add ifaces and set the hwaddress, I can't do a discovery unless I explicitly pick the 'default' interface.
I had what I thought was an unrelated issue causing this. I had to set net.ipv4.conf.default.rp_filter to zero in /etc/sysctl.conf and then run sysctl -p
