Internal Modem problem in RED HAT 9

Hi guyz

I am a new user of RED HAT LINUX 9

I tried to configure a PROLINK Internal 56 K modem in linux. As i was running the command mode as default it tried to configure it automatically. But after that.. I have XIO error. And I can't switch to xwindows mode. I don't know to uninstall modem. I tried to repair by removing the modem.. but was not successful.

Pls help to uninstall the modem from command mode. and let me know whether is it possible to install internal modem in linux.

It is possible, however the support for nasty internal WinModems is a bit dodgey. winmodems are like floppies, they are cheaper than hardware chips, WinModems dont have all the parts normal ones do, they are emulated my software (http://www.iac.es/galeria/eddie/linu.../winmodem.html). I had an LtWin modem and some champion had already created a manual and a set of scripts which configured and installed my model for me, have a search of www.google.com/linux for your modem and see if anybody has done the same.
