Installing Google Chrome on RHEL 5.5 - Getting error

I am getting this error when trying to install Google Chrome. Please help. I did not understand the error that is displayed after running the google-chrome-beta_current_i386.rpm file with the command, rpm -i google-chrome-beta_current_i386.rpm

The error displayed is this:

Missing Dependency: lsb >= 3.2 is needed by package google-chrome-beta-5.0.342.7-42476.i386 (/google-chrome-beta_current_i386)
Missing Dependency: xdg-utils is needed by package google-chrome-beta-5.0.342.7-42476.i386 (/google-chrome-beta_current_i386)

Please elaborate your answer....

The same way you are not able to run Krusader 2.x, Amarok 2.x or full 3D supported Intel X driver on RHEL/CentOS 5.x.

RHEL 5.0 was released in 2007, based on Fedora Core 6. Since it is meant to be stable enterprise enviroment, almost all packages had package freeze.

Since Chrome is new software, it is based on new/modern versions of packages, not to be found on RHEL 5.x. Maybe RHEL 6 (Beta) just released.

The reason is not 'lsb' ( redhat-lsb ) or 'xdg-utils'.
The are easy to install with # yum install redhat-lsb xdg-utils

But down the road you will meet a missing libstdc++.so.6.
The version, you have is too old, and cannot be replaced.
EL5 is too old for that package, as said by @ DrLove73

You can use the EL5 / CentOS54 google-chrome package
http://www.cs.bham.ac.uk/~cxs548/chrome
http://www.cs.bham.ac.uk/~cxs548/chrome.tar.gz

cd chrome/ && ./chrome-wrapper
... will display the google chrome browser.
