Installing Firefox 32bit on Centos 6.0

Hello,

In the prior version of Centos: 5.5, I was able to do the following:

yum install firefox.i686

and it would install the 32bit version of Firefox. Apparently, the 32bit repos are no longer set up.

Does anybody know how to install 32bit firefox on Centos 6.x x86_64 version?

Regards,

Randy.

Can I ask why you want to install a different architecture on your system? Not giving you crap or anything, but I think you would be better off installing the 64 bit version, since that is what you have.

No offense. That is a good question.

I use many Java apps that require sun Java. Open jdk doesn't work for the IT stuff I do. Cents 5.5 understood this and let you simply install x86 version of Firefox.

Now, if you know of a way to get the Java plugin working in the 86_64firefox, I would rather do that.

Have a look here - http://www.mjmwired.net/resources/mj...-f14.html#java
I know that is for fedora, but I don't have access to linux currently, and I remember using almost the same procedure for other distros and variants. Maybe do something of the same nature? I know for a fact I have gotten the 32 bit plugin working on 64 bit systems in the past...
