Question Installing apt-get

i want to perform apt-get install universe, but doesn't seem to be working.
i installed apt-get (from an rpm from Fedora project) instructions i followed are here:
i then configued the sources.list file two include two extra servers for redhat, but it doesn't really work. I can perform apt-get install mozilla and some others, but apt-get install xine doesn't work as it doesn't find xine, doesn't perform apt-get install universe either.
is this just a problem with the servers configurations?

Whether or not apt-get will find xine depends on what repositories you have entered into your sources lists. You may need to add the repository. Find documentation in the top directory.
