Question installing Adaptec U320 on Red Hat 9 (how to?)

I was asked to install an Adaptec 39320A driver on a Red Hat 9 box. I went to Adaptec and downloaded what I thought I needed. A tar.gz file came down with an .rpm and a .img file (not sure what the .img file is).

This was the zip file I downloaded
----------------------------------
aic79xx-2.0.15-rh90us-i686.tar.gz

These where inside
--------------------
aic79xx.rh90us.i686.img
aic79xx.rh90us.i686.rpm

I tried to install the rpm and I received an error message saying that no pre-compiled module for 2.4.20-8 i686 module can be found.

The CPU is a Pentium 3

Is there an aic79xxx module rpm I can just install for this kernel level?

If not what do I have to do? Please be explicit in your responses, installing new modules is not something I have ever done in Red hat and I am really at a loss.

thanks
