install Oracle: library problems

Hi,
I have this problem during the Oracle installation:

[oracle1@localhost bin]$ ./sqlplus
./sqlplus: error while loading shared libraries: libclntsh.so.9.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

does anyone have a possible solution to it?

Thanks in advance

From Oracle's knowlegebase:
-------------------
Such an error is symptomatic that LD_LIBRARY_PATH is not properly defined.
-------------------

Define your LD_LIBRARY_PATH to what you need. You don't say what version/distro of Linux you're using either, or whether this has ever worked for you. The library that provides that package may not be installed, either.

oracleasmlib-2.0.2-1
I know that this is Oracle10, but the same applies - you need the instantclient installed to provide the client libraries.

Many thanks TB0ne. The problem was fixed installing some rpm packets, a necessary patch before the installation. It was refered to the libraries as you well said!
