information about Fedora and its chances of getting installed on sata hdd

i cant understand what is all that red hat linux has gone commercial and also fedora can be used in its place also please expalain which version of fedora will get installed on sata. also are there differences between fedora and red hat linux.

Red Hat Linux is a commercially supported version produced by Red Hat. Fedora is the community-driven side to Red Hat. They do contain some different applications, but Fedora is normally more up-to-date than Red Hat. FC8 should easily support a SATA drive.
