i need a new mkbootdisk !!

hey there.
when i installed redhat 9 i didnt install either grug nor lilo, instead i created a bootup disk, i installed linux to a seperate harddrive because i didnt want any interferance with windows at all (not even a boot up screen)
now the bootup disk is stuffed and i have no way of booting up linux.
how can i create a new bootup disc ? (not an installation disk)
i will only be able to do it using windows and i cant read my linux hardrive from it.
is this possible ?

Boot from your RH Linux CD then at the prompt type linux rescue this will boot up linux. Once at the prompt type the following cmd mkbootdisk-device /dev/fd0 kernel this will create a linux boot disk

chow

to tell you the truth youve written the answer as if might have a clue about what im doing, i dont.
i have lindows 4.0 that runs from a disc, with this i can see into both my windows partitions and also to my redhat 9 harddrive, is there anyway i can use this to my advantage to maybe get something from the redhat disk to make a new bootup disk ?
i need every little bit of instruction i can get as i really have no idea about command lines or anything like that, some real easy to follow help would be great as im sick of not knowing how to do anything with linux.

p.s. can someone give me straight, plain and simple instructions on how to install grub ? i didnt install it when i installed Redhat 9 but i want to now, it would have to be easier than getting a new mkbootdisk.

Howzit

1. Boot from RH CD1
2. Linux rescue (type at the prompt)
3. /sbin/grub-install /dev/hda (type this at the prompt this will creat your grub menu)
4. reboot

this should create grub from scartch. Not knowing your setup completly I suggest for now to only connect the drive that has RH the reason being I don't know if you RH drive is Pri master or Sec Mas . I suggest for now change RH drive to be Pri Master then add the other drive.
