I cannot locate these two files.

libaspell.so.15
libgtkspell.so.0

They are dependent for my GAIM to run. I googled them but it only returned poor links, that never had what I needed.

I'm running RH9 right now.

Anyone know where these files might be available for download?

Visit; http://www.fedoralegacy.org/

Use the source rpm's from FC1 and build the binaries;

aspell-0.50.3-16.src.rpm
aspell-en-0.51-6.src.rpm (the matching spelling for English)
gtkspell-2.0.4-2.src.rpm

I searched that website

But could not find the source.

After I do how do I build the bianary?

Why not just upgrade to Fedora Core which is a lot newer than Redhat 9? It'll cause you less headaches when trying to install newish packages.

If I installed the new Fedora core would that supplant my RH9 files, I mean like some text files and some files I have for school on my machine? Or is it simply a kernel upgrade?

Also how would I go about finding the Fedora core if I were to decide to use it, would it cost anything(dumb question since this is open source, but I need to cover all my bases)

Not that hard, follow the links starting on the left-hand side
"Home"
"About"
"Advisories"
"Download"

But to save you some effort;

http://download.fedoralegacy.org/fedora/1/os/SRPMS/

Fedora Core along with Redhat Enterprise Linux are the replacements of the old Redhat Linux (Redhat 9 and below). You can find out more about Fedora Core from fedora.redhat.com and fedoraproject.org. Its a completely free distro so you can download it from download.fedora.redhat.com. Since Fedora Core 5 is a lot newer than Redhat 9, you will have to backup your important files and then install Fedora Core in the partitions that you sere using for Redhat 9.
