I can't start the Users and Groups program.

Okay, now I'm even more confused than usual -- and that is scary. I am running RH8 as a DNS/Samba/Apache/NFS server. When I get my setups correct so I can get on with my Windoze 98/XP boxes, and another Linux 8 workstation, I can no longer get the Users and Groups program to work. I get the key on the taskbar, but the program never appears. I am logged in as root. Yeesh!

I've seen this on a RH 7.3 system where a script had inserted user accounts in a non-standard way. The server ran fine but the Red Hat utility couldn't parse the files properly and just crashed every time we try to load it. So I'd double check that the passwd, shadow and group files are formatted correctly.
