How to update 2.4.20-8 kernel source to 2.4.20-31.9?

My Problem: I'm currently running RedHat 9 (2.4.20-8); I installed the kernel sources when I installed RedHat. I've installed a binary dist of the 2.4.20-31.9 kernel (one with SNARE built in) and that works fine. However, the nVidia driver stopped working - the module doesn't load.

I need to install the 2.4.20-31.9 sources so the nVidia installer can build a new kernel interface. I downloaded kernel-2.4.20-31.9.src.rpm and installed it. That unpacked the patches and configs into /usr/src/redhat/...

Is there one command to apply all those patches to the 2.4.20-8 sources or do I have to 'patch' each one separately and in the right order (oh I hope not)?

Alternatively, does anyone know where I can find a binary dist of the nVidia drivers built with the 2.4.20-31.9 kernel?

Thanks.
Michael

There should be a separate rpm called kernel-source that supplies what you need.

Downloading the kernel src.rpm is not the right thing to do in this case.

Thanks, that was the missing bit of information I needed.

Unfortunately, it looks like I'm going to have to actually build the kernel to get the nVidia driver and the SNARE software to work together. I just hope that if/when I get the new kernel built, that all of the RedHat 9 "stuff" still works.
