As you know RHN is going to down on 31st July and Red Hat want us to use RHSM. We use mrepo for downloading updates for RHEL 5 and RHEL 6 OS. We currently download updates thru mrepo for RHEL 5 and RHEL 6 in one RHEL 5 server (which is mrepo server) and this server is currently connected with RHN. But my query is how to configure mprepo with RHSM when we will migrate our subscription from RHN to RHSM.
Hi

Since you're using RHEL and are registered with Red Hat, and you need a 'prompt response', the best suggestion would be for you to call Red Hat support and ask them. Those would be the most knowledgeable folks to deal with subscription/migration issues.
Red Hat simply denied to support mrepo as mrepo is not Red Hat product. Hence I need help from this forum.
And you're paying for RHEL, so hence you should call them for support. They have other options that ARE Red Hat certified that do the same job. And this has also been covered in the Red Hat knowledgebase: https://access.redhat.com/discussions/1410993
Hello,
How did you manage that problem since please ?
You reopened a thread that's been closed for two years...read the LQ Rules; don't do that unless you've got additional information to post in relation to answering the question.
The OP was told specifically to contact Red Hat...that's how the problem is solved. They were given a link to the Red Hat knowledgebase, that specifically dealt with the question; did you read it? RHEL is a commercial, PAY FOR distro...if you have problems registering and getting updates, contact Red Hat. And anything to do with RHEL 5 is pointless, since it has long since passed end-of-life.
Always a pleasure to get a such benevolent answer. Really like being in the Soviet Union in the 1950s.
I've reopen nothing. I've asked a question to cj_cheema just curious or how he solved his problem with RH or without it.
Is it forbidden to ask for an epilog on this forum ?

You *DID* reopen a two year old, closed thread, **BY POSTING TO IT**. Again, read the LQ Rules, since it's obvious you haven't.
AGAIN, since you seem to have ignored it, he was directed to a link on the RHEL site that said, specifically, how to do what he wanted. Again, that's for RHEL 5 and 6....5 is EOL, 6 is already on the way out, and you don't bother telling us what you're using. He received a link to instructions, software, and a how-to guide...not sure what else you need, or why you feel it's so '1950's Soviet Union oppressive' to have to actually read something.
And again, RHEL is not free, so if you're not paying for it, you sure aren't going to have access to the online repositories to use mrepo or satellite, period. And if you don't like the answers, that's too bad; you're totally free to ask Red Hat support for help with their commercial, pay-for product. Question was asked and answered two years ago, and we can't read the solution to you, or understand it for you. The link provided had instructions on how to set up mrepo which is TOTALLY USELESS, if you're not paying for RHEL. Simple. And mrepo hasn't been updated since 2011, taking you back to satellite and pay-for-RHEL.
