your linux whether hava a X-window?
if not,
before you make,
you shuld config it does not support gui

You mean that if nessus was not compiled with gui support, the port will not be open?

Anyway, last user had Ubuntu, and has installed nessus via apt-get. This is already compiled for gnome. What is wrong with opening the port in the firewall? Nobody has provided feedback on this.

Smile I have had RTFM

Based on Nesus docs:
1. Versions 4.2 don't have GUI client (only WEB)
2. use port https:/localhost:8834 in order to connect directly to ssl.
