how to install Red Hat 8 in a Dell computer with a SCSI hard drive

I'm trying to install Red Hat 8 in one Dell Precision 670 with a SCSI hard drive, but the software does NOT DETECT the hard drives and the installation fails. The computer is current running Red Hat enterprise 3. However, I need Red Hat 8 to run a simulation which only works on that version of Linux.

The dell folks told me to download some drives for RHE-3, but after installing those drives the Red Hat 8 installation still fails.

Someone knows what I need to do to fix this problem or if there are some drivers out there that could let me install the software.

Thanks,
Elmer

Is the 670 a 64 bit processor? If so, you might have better luck finding an old box laying around to setup on Red Hat 8. The problem is probably that the kernel is not new enough to support the 670 hardware.

I found out that the computer has RH8 already installed, but it is not working properly. I got all kind of errors and many time the RH does not detected the keyboard or the mouse. Someone advice me to install RH8 again, but RH8 does not detect the hard drive at the beginning of the installation.
